Saints end four-game losing streak with first road win of season

The New Orleans Saints ended a four-game losing streak with a 17-7 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in Charlotte.

The win, the team's first on the road this season, improved the Saints to 2-8 and dropped the Panthers to 5-5.

Rookie quarterback Tyler Shough, making his second start, threw two touchdown passes while going 19 of 27 for 282 yards.

Receiver Chris Olave had a 62-yard touchdown reception, part of his five catches for 102 yards. Tight end Juwan Johnson had a 30-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter, part of his four catches for 92 yards. Running back Alvin Kamarahad an all-around game, running 22 times for 83 yards while catching three passes for 32 yards. Taysom Hill helped close out the game with seven carries for 20 yards.

Defensive back Alontae Taylor made a key interception in the fourth quarter while linebacker Pete Werner had a fumble recovery. Defensive end Cameron Jordanand defensive tackle Nathan Shepherd both had sacks; it was the 125th of Jordan's career.

The Saints will be on their bye after returning from Charlotte and then will host the Atlanta Falcons on Nov. 23.
