Justin Reid was a full participant in Thursday's New Orleans Saints practice while receiver Mason Tipton missed the session with an illness. Reid has missed most of the last three games after exiting in the first quarter of the Saints loss to the Miami Dolphins with a knee injury. SEE MORE>>

Charlie Smyth made the decision easy for the New Orleans Saints. Head coach Kellen Moore said Wednesday that the team will sign Smyth to the active roster at some point this week — an obvious conclusion after Smyth's 47-yard game-winner in the closing seconds last week against the Carolina Panthers. The New Orleans Saints have placed rookie running back Devin Neal on injured reserve with a hamstring injury he suffered during Sunday's victory over the Carolina Panthers. The move will end Neal's season. With Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller already sidelined with knee injuries, Neal had taken over as the Saints' primary running back for the past three weeks. New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the club has signed wide receiver Kevin Austin Jr. from the practice squad to the active roster, signed wide receiver Elijah Cooks and running back Nyheim Miller-Hines to the practice squad, placed running back Devin Neal on Injured Reserve and terminated the practice squad contract of kicker Cade York.
