New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the club has signed free agent kicker Daniel Carlson and placed cornerback Rejzohn Wright on Injured Reserve. In addition, the Black and Gold have acquired running back Zamir White (pronounced Zuh-MEER) in a trade with the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for linebacker Deion Jones.

Carlson, 6-5, 222, was originally selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the fifth round (167th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Auburn. In eight seasons with Minnesota (2018) and the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders (2018-25), Carlson has made 225-of-259 field goals (86.9%) and 244-of-255 extra points (95.7%) for 919 total points. Since 2018, his 225 field goals rank third in the NFL, his 86.9 field goal percentage ranks seventh (min. 200 att.) and his 919 kicking points ranks fourth. The two-time AP All-Pro made 22-of-27 field goals (82.5%) and 21-of-22 extra point attempts for 87 total points in 2025, including a game-winning career-long 60-yard kick with eight seconds left in a season-closing 14-12 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Colorado Springs, Colo. native played four seasons at Auburn (2014-17), where he appeared in 53 games and finished his career as the school and Southeastern Conference recordholder in career scoring (480 points), kicking points (474), field goals made (92) and consecutive PATs made (198), while earning All-America honors four times.

White, 5-11, 227, was originally selected by the Las Vegas Raiders in the fourth round (122nd overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft out of the University of Georgia. In four seasons with the Raiders (2022-25), the Laurinburg, N.C. native appeared in 45 games with nine starts, rushing 198 times for 736 yards with two touchdowns and caught 25 passes for 152 yards (6.1 avg.). In 2025, White played in six games for Las Vegas, rushing for 32 yards, caught four passes for 24 yards, and returned 11 kickoffs for 294 yards (26.7 avg.). He enjoyed his most productive season in 2023, when he played in all 17 games with four starts and carried 104 times for 451 yards (4.3 avg.) with one touchdown and a caught a career-high 15 passes for a career-best 98 yards.
