The New Orleans Saints host the Arizona Cardinals at the Caesars Superdome for Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 12 p.m. CT.

The Saints will open up the 2025 season at the Caesars Superdome against the Arizona Cardinals.

The Saints have won their last six season openers, dating back to a 30-28 victory over the Houston Texans in 2019, the longest active streak in the NFL. The Cardinals lead the regular season series 16-15, but the Saints captured the 2009 NFC Divisional Playoff over Arizona, 45-14 at the Caesars Superdome.

The two teams last faced each other in 2022 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Az., where the Cardinals pulled away with a 42-34 victory.

THIS WEEK IN THE NFC SOUTH: The rest of the NFC South will also kickoff at noon on Sunday, September 7. The Carolina Panthers take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road to open the season while the Atlanta Falcons will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the first NFC South matchup of the season.

SAINTS vs. CARDINALS SEASON SERIES HISTORY

The Saints and Cardinals have played 31 times in the regular season with the Cardinals leading the series 16-15. The Cardinals won the first three games, including both played in 1968, when they were in the NFL Century divison. The Saints won their first game against the Cardinals on Nov. 2, 1969, 51-42 at Busch Stadium. In another memorable contest, the Saints beat the Cardinals 14-0 on Dec. 8, 1974 in the team's final contest at Tulane Stadium. In their only postseason meeting, the Saints defeated the Cardinals, 45-14, in the NFC Divisional Playoff at the Superdome on Jan. 16, 2010, en route to the Super Bowl XLIV Championship.

In the 31 regular season games of the series there has been:
• 708 points scored by New Orleans, 722 allowed.
• A four-game New Orleans winning streak from 1990-93.
• A four-game New Orleans winning steak in games played at the Caesars Superdome from 1997-present and a three-game winning streak at contests played at Sun Devil Stadium, Arizona's home prior to State Farm Stadium, from 1991-93.
• 20 games decided by double-digits.
• Seven games decided by 21 or more points.
• Eight games decided by eight points or less.
• A 22-point win in the Saints' last victory in the series, on October 27, 2019 at the Superdome.
• A 33-point loss by New Orleans.
