Vonn Bell stepped up as a leader in the secondary for the New Orleans Saints in 2019

Bell had a breakout 2019 campaign

Analysis: Strong safety Vonn Bell had the best season of his four-year career in 2019 with 86 total tackles, five passes defensed, two forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries, one returned for a touchdown. His nose for the football helped set up the Saints' offense with great starting field position on several occasions. Bell was part of a starting group with cornerbacks Eli Apple and Marshon Lattimore and free safety Marcus Williams that combined have only 14 years of experience. The chemistry and experience of having played with Apple and Lattimore at Ohio State also helped.

Best Game: New Orleans hosted a 3-0 Dallas team on "Sunday Night Football," where Bell smothered two Cowboys scoring opportunities with two second quarter forced fumbles, allowing New Orleans to go into halftime with a 9-3 lead. The Saints won the defensive heavyweight battle 12-10. Bell finished with 10 total tackles, one pass defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Best Quote: "The evolution of my game shows the trust factor in our coaches and the evolution of our defensive scheme. It feels great that we are all on the same page now, and there's all the camaraderie where it's just like family. Everyone on the back end, as well as the coaches, are on the same page, and the sky is the limit for us." – Bell.
