New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Monday that the club has re-signed restricted free agent offensive tackle Zach Strief, as the lineman* *signed the club's qualifying offer.

Strief was selected by the Saints in the seventh round of the 2006 NFL Draft (210th overall) and has appeared in 57 games in his first four professional seasons, making five starts. A standout reserve on the offensive line, the 6-foot-7, 320-pound Northwestern University graduate has seen action at both left and right tackle and also has been used as a blocking tight end as well as on special teams. Strief played in all 16 games with two starts in 2009 and participated in all three of the team's postseason victories, bringing his career total to five postseason games played.
