Stephone Anthony nominated for the NFL's Rookie of the Week

Anthony recorded 10 tackles, returned a blocked PAT for a defensive two-point attempt and forced a fumble he returned for a TD

Stephone Anthony has been nominated for the NFL's Rookie of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Anthony, a first round selection in the 2015 NFL Draft (31th overall) from Clemson University, recorded 10 tackles, returned a blocked PAT for a defensive two-point attempt and forced a fumble he returned 31 yards for a touchdown against the Carolina Panthers.

Fans can vote for Anthony here. The winner will be announced on Thursday.

Anthony forced and recovered a Jonathan Stewart fumble in the first quarter and returned it 31-yards for a touchdown.

It was Anthony's first career touchdown, as well as his first career forced fumble and recovery.

Anthony's blocked PAT was the first time in NFL history that a blocked PAT kick attempt resulted in a two-point conversion since the NFL's rule change before the 2015 season.

Anthony is the third Saints player, and first defensive player, to record a touchdown and a two-point conversion in the same game, joining Darren Sproles and Lance Moore.

The last player to score a defensive touchdown for the Saints was LB Jonathan Vilma, who took an interception back 18 yards for the score on Dec. 30, 2012 against Carolina.

For the season Anthony has amassed 115 tackles (80 solo), five tackles for loss, five passes defensed, one sack, four quarterback hit, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery for a touchdown, one interception and one two-point PAT return.
