Saints score 21 points in second quarter

Second-quarter update:The Saints rode the unbelievable accuracy of quarterback Drew Brees to a 28-10 lead over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. At one point Brees completed 19 consecutive passes, including a 1-yard TD pass to Pierre Thomas in the second quarter.

The Saints added two more TDs in the period when Darren Sproles darted in from three yards away and then took a screen pass from Brees and raced in from 28 yards away.

The Cowboys scored to start the period on a 7-yard run by DeMarco Murray.

Key stats: Drew Brees, 26 of 30, 252 yards, three TDs; Marques Colston, six catches for 94 yards and one TD. Cowboys, Tony Romo, 3 of 8 for 20 yards; DeMarco Murray, 11 carries for 80 yards and one TD.
