SERIES:The Saints are 6-7 all-time against Pittsburgh, who are making their fifth trip to play New Orleans in the Superdome...The Saints have a 2-2 record against the Steelers in games played at the Superdome...The Steelers are one of the Saints' most infrequent opponents. The two teams have only played three times since 1993, the least meetings the Saints have had with an NFL foe over that span – excluding the Texans, who entered the NFL in 2002... When scoring 16 points or more, the Saints are 6-1 in the series...On Nov. 19, 1984, the Saints won the first Monday Night Football game in club history with a 27-24 victory at the Superdome. New Orleans had entered the game 0-6 on MNF...New Orleans and Pittsburgh were division foes in 1968 when both teams were part of the Century Division. They played twice that season, with the Saints winning both games

LAST MEETING: Nov. 12, 2006: Steelers 38, Saints 31 @ Heinz Field – The Saints battled back from an early, two-touchdown deficit to take a seven-point lead at halftime, but two fumbles in the second half were too much to overcome. Pittsburgh scored the game's first two touchdowns, both on first quarter scoring passes by QB Ben Roethlisberger to WR Hines Ward and TE Heath Miller. After a 43-yard kickoff return by WR Michael Lewis, the Saints put together a 12-play, 52-yard match, with QB Drew Brees finding WR Terrance Copper for a three-yard TD pass and in the second quarter K John Carney booted a 20-yard field goal. RB Reggie Bush scored his first touchdown from scrimmage later in the quarter on a 15-yard rush off a double-reverse, taking a pitch from WR Marques Colston and leaping over a defender into the end zone. Pittsburgh would respond with a field goal, and the Saints would answer with a quick drive with a TD run by RB Deuce McAllister. In the second half, Roethlisberger threw his third TD to tie the score at 24, and consecutive touchdown runs by RB Willie Parker pushed the Steelers ahead by 14.

With 8:05 left, McAllister alertly picked up a fumble and bolted four yards into the end zone to make it 38-31. The Saints were driving late in the game, but a fumble at the Pittsburgh 25 with 49 seconds left ended the club's comeback chances.
