18 years after his name was called by the New Orleans Saints to be the eighth pick in the 1993 NFL Draft, William Roaf will return the favor.
It was announced by the NFL that Roaf, who was selected to seven straight Pro Bowls as a Saint from 1994-200 and was a 2011 Pro Football Hall of Fame Finalist, will announce his former club's second-round pick at the NFL draft next Friday. The Saints currently have the 56th choice overall, the 24th pick in the second round. it is part of an initiative whereby for each team retired NFL players will announce their former teams' second-round picks at the draft.
Roaf will also represent the NFL as he and other former players, 2011 NFL draft prospects and Commissioner Roger Goodell join New York City Youth at an NFL Play 60 Youth Football Festival. on Thursday, April 28, Roaf will join Pro Football Hall of Famer Anthony Munoz and former San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Charles Haley to conduct youth football clinics to New York youth.
