New Orleans Saints Waive DE Greg Romeus

The Saints drafted Romeus in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL Draft

New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the club has waived DE Greg Romeus.

Romeus, 6-5, 267, was originally selected by the Saints as a seventh round draft pick (226th overall) in 2011 from Pittsburgh, where he was a four-year letterman. Romeus played in 40 games with 28 starts for the Panthers and finished his college career with 142 tackles, 19.5 sacks, 38.5 stops for losses, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, one interception, 12 passes defensed and four blocked kicks. He did not see any action in his first two NFL seasons, recovering from a pair of knee injuries.

The Saints roster now stands at 89 players.
