Coaching Connections

New Orleans Head Coach Sean Payton, Assistant Head Coach/LinebackersJoe Vitt and Baltimore Head Coach John Harbaugh and Run Game Coordinator Juan Castillo served on the same staff with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Vitt played linebacker at Towson State from 1974-77 and served on the coaching staff of the Baltimore Colts from 1979-81.

Baltimore Assistant Head Coach/Secondary Steve Spagnuolo served as defensive coordinator in New Orleans in 2012.

New Orleans Assistant Secondary CoachAndre Curtis served on Spagnuolo's defensive staff with the New York Giants from 2007-08 and the St. Louis Rams from 2009-11 before coming with him to New Orleans in 2012.

New Orleans Defensive Coordinator Rob Ryan and Baltimore Inside Linebackers Coach Don Martindale served on the same coaching staff with the Oakland Raiders from 2004-08.

New Orleans guard Ben Grubbs was the Ravens' first round draft choice in 2007 and started 70 regular season games and nine postseason games at guard for Baltimore from 2007-11.

Saints practice squad wide receiver Brandon Coleman prepped at Bishop McNamara (Forestville, Md.) High School.

New Orleans safety Kenny Vaccaro and Baltimore kicker Justin Tucker were college teammates at the University of Texas.
