New Orleans Saints Sign OL Orlando Franklin

The New Orleans Saints announced today that they have signed offensive lineman Orlando Franklin. The announcement was made by Saints’ Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis.

The New Orleans Saints announced today that they have signed offensive lineman Orlando Franklin. The announcement was made by Saints' Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis.

Franklin, 6-6, 315, comes to New Orleans after spending the last two seasons with the San Diego Chargers, where he opened 26 games at left guard. Originally selected by the Denver Broncos as a second round draft pick in 2011 out of the University of Miami (Fla.), he immediately moved into the starting lineup at right tackle for the Broncos where he opened all 16 regular season games and two postseason contest Franklin moved over to left guard in 2014 and after signing with San Diego as an unrestricted free agent with San Diego in 2016, served as their starting left guard.

A three-year starter for the Hurricanes, Franklin appeared in 51 career games with 39 starts at left guard and left tackle in college.
