New Orleans Saints Sign Defensive Tackle Alex Daniels; Waive DB Cord Parks

Davis first entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Oakland Raiders in 2010

New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced on Tuesday the team has signed defensive tackle Alex Daniels. The club has also waived cornerback Cord Parks.

Daniels is a 6-2, 265-pound product of the University of Cincinnati who first entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Oakland Raiders in 2010. He had stints on the Dallas Cowboys practice squad in 2010 and spent two weeks of the 2011 season on the practice roster of the New York Giants, where he played fullback. Daniels was a defensive tackle at the University of Cincinnati, where he had eight sacks as a senior in 2009 – including four against Miami of Ohio and two vs. Florida in the Sugar Bowl. He began his collegiate career at Minnesota, where he played on the defensive line before switching to running back in 2006. He transferred to Cincinnati and moved back to the defensive line for his final two years after sitting out the 2007 season.
