New Orleans Saints sign defensive back DeShawn Shead, place receiver Krishawn Hogan on Injured Reserve

Shead will wear No. 35

The New Orleans Saints announced Thursday, Dec. 26 that they have signed defensive back DeShawn Shead and placed wide receiver Krishawn Hogan on Injured Reserve.

Shead, 6 feet 2, 212 pounds, was originally signed by the Seattle Seahwaks as an undrafted free agent out of Portland State in 2012. In six seasons with Seattle (2013-17) and Detroit (2018), Shead has played in 66 contests with 22 starts at cornerback and one at strong safety, recording career totals of 146 tackles (108 solo) one sack, two interceptions, 24 passes defensed, four forced fumbles, 12 special teams stops, one blocked punt and one coverage forced fumble. In ten postseason contests with three starts with the Seahawks, the Palmdale, Calif. native has posted 11 stops (seven solo), four passes defensed and nine coverage stops.

Shead will wear number 35.
