New Orleans Saints select Will Clapp with pick 245

Clapp is from New Orleans and went to LSU

The New Orleans Saints selected LSU offensive lineman Will Clapp with the 245th pick in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft on Saturday.

Clapp was a three-year starter on the offensive line for the Tigers. He earned first team All-SEC at center and guard.

Clapp was the first LSU offensive lineman to be named first team All-SEC twice since Herman Johnson in 2007 and 2008.

Clapp started all 36 games that he appeared in during his LSU career (13 at center, 12 at left guard, 11 at right guard). He played 2,279 snaps with 218 knockdowns in his three years with the Tigers.

He blocked for three 1,000-yard rushers (Leonard Fournette in 2015, Derrius Guice in 2016 and 2017).

Clapp was named a permanent team captain for the 2017 Tigers in a vote of his teammates.
