In Friday's “Together We Make Football” segment on TODAY, the New Orleans Saints rewarded Team Louisiana, the 2014 Special Olympic Flag Football Champions, with tickets and pregame passes to Sunday's Saints-Packers game.
Sean Payton announced the reward in a video message while Owner/Vice Chairman of the Board Rita Benson LeBlanc was with the team when they watched the message at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Team Louisiana was the gold medal-winning flag football team in the first-ever Unified Flag Football event at The Special Olympics 2014 USA Games in Newark, New Jersey. After receiving their medals, the squad returned to Louisiana where the Saints and Payton recognized them for their accomplishment in a special visit to the team's practice facility.
Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers travel to New Orleans this Sunday to face Brees and the Saints on Sunday Night Football on NBC. Pre-game coverage begins with Football Night In America at 7 p.m. ET.
