New Orleans Saints-Oakland Raiders updates: Saints lead 23-7 at halftime

First-team offense, defense clicking for Saints

The New Orleans Saints made it look easy Friday night as they rolled to a 23-7 lead over the Oakland Raiders in preseason action at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The Saints led 17-0 after the opening period and then tacked on two more Garrett Hartley field goals in the second quarter.

The defense continued its fine play as it smothered Raiders quarterback Matt Flynn, sacking him five times for 28 yards in losses. The Raiders did drive 82 yards on their final possession of the half for an 18-yard touchdown pass from Flynn to Denarius Moore.
