The New Orleans Saints' Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today the team has claimed S Rafael Bush off of waivers from the Denver Broncos and waived S Jonathon Amaya.

Bush, 5-11, 200, is a second-year safety from South Carolina State, who originally signed as a rookie free agent with the Atlanta Falcons after the 2010 NFL Draft. Bush spent most of his rookie season on Atlanta's practice squad before being signed to the active roster for their regular season finale and playoff game. After going to training camp with the Falcons in 2011 and spending the first half of the campaign on their practice roster, Bush was signed to the active roster of the Broncos, where he appeared in six games and recorded three special teams tackles.

Amaya, 6-2, 205, was a third-year safety who was originally acquired from the Saints from the Miami Dolphins at the start of the 2011 preseason. Amaya appeared in all 16 regular season games for New Orleans in 2011 and made nine special teams and a forced fumble along with ten defensive stops (five solo), adding three special teams stops in the postseason. Overall, in two NFL seasons, Amaya appeared in 26 games and recorded ten tackles, 24 special teams stops, one special teams forced fumble and one special teams fumble recovery.

The Saints will announce their practice squad on Sunday.
