New Orleans Saints-Buccaneers game resumes after delay of more than an hour

Saints led 3-0 when play was called because of lightning threat

Tampa, Fla. - Play has resumed in the New Orleans Saints-Tampa Bay Buccaneers game Sunday after a weather delay of a little more than an hour. The Bucs have the ball at their own 20-yard line down 3-0 with 10:30 to play in the first quarter.

The last time a Saints game was delayed was Sept. 4, 1971 in a preseason game with Philadelphia. The Saints were losing 34-0 and the game was called with 33 seconds left due to lightning by officials.
