New Orleans Saints at Houston Texans third quarter updates: Saints 24, Texans 23

Teams trade touchdowns in the third quarter

Third quarter update: The New Orleans Saints and Houston Texans traded touchdowns in the third quarter of their game Sunday at Reliant Stadium as the Saints ended the period up 24-23.

Backup quarterback Luke McCown tossed his second TD of the game, an 8-yard strike to receiver Andy Tanner who bulled his way into the end zone. The Saints' defense had a nice goal-line stand in the period as well, punctuated by a big stop on fourth-and-goal by linebacker Ramon Humbler.

Backup quarterback T.J. Yates led the Texans on a 53-yard scoring drive capped by an 11-yard scoring pass to Alec Lemon.

Key stats: Saints, Luke McCown, 10 of 14 for 118 yards and 2 TDs; Mark Ingram, four carries for 24 yards; Kenny Stills, two catches for 54 yards. Texans: T.J. Yates, 7 of 9 for 73 yards and 1 TD.
