New Orleans Saints announce roster moves

P.J. Williams placed on IR

The New Orleans Saints have re-signed tackle Tony Hillsand placed cornerback P.J. Williamson Injured Reserve, it was announced Thursday, Sept. 22 by Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis

Hills, 6 feet 5, 304 pounds, is in his eighth NFL season and returns to the Saints after spending training camp with the club. In 2015, he was signed by New Orleans in Week Six and played in eight games, seeing action both as a reserve offensive lineman and on special teams. The Houston, Texas native was originally a fourth-round draft pick (130th overall) by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2008 out of the University of Texas and has appeared in 22 regular season games with one start over his career and has also appeared in four postseason contest. The former Longhorn played in 42 games for the University of Texas, starting his final 24 contests and being named a first-team All-America selection following his senior year.

Williams, 6-0, 196, was New Orleans' third round draft pick (78th overall) in the 2015 NFL Draft. He started both contests he appeared in this season and recorded six tackles (five solo) and two passes defensed.
