New Orleans Saints 2017 season recap: Cam Jordan

Cam Jordan had a career-high 13 sacks and shows no signs of slowing down.

The seventh-year veteran showed no signs of slowing down this season. Cam Jordan finished 2017 with a career-high 13 sacks, 11 passes defensed, 28 quarterback hits, two forced fumbles, 62 tackles, and an interception that he caught in the end zone for a touchdown.

BEST GAME:Jordan's best all-around game came in Los Angeles against the Rams. Jordan bulldozed Rams quarterback Jared Goff not once but twice, one coming in each half. The defensive end finished the game with four tackles and two pass deflections, creating a blocking nightmare for the Rams.

Though Jordan takes pride in his efforts on the field, he takes just as much pride in his efforts off the field. Jordan was selected by the New Orleans Saints as the Man of the Year, making him a nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. The award recognizes an NFL player for outstanding community service activities off the field as well as excellence on the field.

Being the defender on every offensive radar caused Jordan to be selected to first-team All-Pro by The Associated Press, nominated as an NFL Defensive Player of the Year candidate, and awarded  NFC Player of the Month in November in addition to making the Pro Bowl for the third time.

BEST QUOTE

"He's really just a big effort guy, play in and play out. Not many people can say that. Not only is he high on effort, but he's also really talented. There's not very many people that have that combination, talent and effort and want-to. He has it, and I think that's what makes him special."
