Khairi Fortt agrees to terms on contract with New Orleans Saints

Linebacker agrees to four-year contract

New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Monday that the club has agreed to terms with the club's fourth-round pick ILB Khairi Fortt on a four-year contract.

Fortt, 22, was selected by the Saints in the fourth round of the draft with the 126th pick overall. The 6-foot-2, 240-pound inside linebacker played his final college season at the University of California after transferring from Penn State in 2012.  In 2013 as a fourth-year junior, he started all nine games he played in and tied for third on the team with 64 tackles, 0.5 sack and 3.5 sacks for a loss as he was one of 12 national semifinalists for the 2013 Butkus Award. In 31 contests with 10 starts for both the Golden Bears and the Nittany Lions, The Stamford, Conn., native recorded college career totals of 114 tackles, three sacks and 10 stops for a loss.
