John DeShazier: Saints will face Super Bowl MVPs in preseason

Flacco, Brady and Rodgers have all won the award

The New Orleans Saints possibly will face three Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks – including reigning champion Tom Brady of New England, a four-time Super Bowl winner – in their upcoming preseason schedule.

Brady, a three-time Super Bowl MVP, and the Patriots will play New Orleans in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in the first of the Saints' two home preseason games. The date has not been announced.

New Orleans' preseason will open on the road against Baltimore and quarterback Joe Flacco; the Ravens won Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans, with Flacco being named MVP of the game. The Saints then will play their preseason home opener against the Patriots.

The third preseason game – and the only one that officially has a date – will be against the Houston Texans on Aug. 30 in the Superdome and nationally televised by Fox.

The preseason will conclude with the Saints taking a trip to Green Bay to play the Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the MVP of Super Bowl XLV.

The Patriots, Ravens and Packers were playoff teams last season. The Ravens played the Patriots in the AFC Divisional Playoffs, and the Packers advanced to the NFC Championship Game before losing to Seattle.
