John DeShazier: Quick takes from Coach Sean Payton's Thursday press conference

Payton pleased with play of Craig Robertson

Quick takes from Coach Sean Payton's Thursday teleconference:

  1. We'll know exactly how the New Orleans Saints plan to use their tight ends Sunday, so any specificity regarding Chris Manhertz(or anyone else) is to be determined. "Our job each week is to get these guys ready for a gameplan," Payton said. "Whether you're looking at Chris or the other two young guys, we have a specific role that we think would tailor their skill set."
  1. Linebacker Craig Robertsonplayed the late pass play, in which he was flagged for pass interference on fourth down, in the manner that he was coached. "I thought he played pretty good last week, considering the amount of snaps he played," Payton said. "I thought the call at the end of the game…I thought he played it perfectly, it (was) just how we coach it. He's been a real good addition for us."

3. Senio Kelemeteas the extra lineman/eligible receiver is a comfortable look for the Saints offense. "We feel like that's a role we've had here in the past, and especially with the injury (to tight end Josh Hill), we had practiced and had a handful of situations," Payton said. "I think Tim has done it before and is someone that is comfortable in that."
