  • With the win, New Orleans finishes 3-1 on the preseason, their first winning preseason mark since they went 3-1 in 2014. The Saints return to action on Sunday, Sept. 9 when they play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to open the 2018 regular season at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m. CST. The game will be aired on FOX (WVUE-FOX 8 in the New Orleans area).
  • Today's shutout marks the second time the Saints recorded back-to-back pre-season shutouts in two consecutive years. The other time the Saints accomplished that was in 2007 and 2008.
  • T/G Andrus Peat, QB Taysom Hill, S Vonn Bell and LB Alex Anzalone served as the team captains for the contest.
  • New Orleans' defense held the Rams to only 76 total rushing yards with an average gain of only 3.1 yards per carry.
  • New Orleans outrushed the Rams 123-30 in the first half. The Saints finished the game with 192 rushing yards.
  • New Orleans outgained the Rams 369-151.
  • At the end of the first half, the Saints outgained the Rams 282-71.
  • QB Taysom Hill started and played through the middle of the third quarter. He completed 10-of17 passes for 159 yards, one touchdown and a 109.7 passer rating. He also recorded the Saints longest rush of the game with an 18-yard carry. Hill finished the game with 31 yards rushing.
  • QB J.T. Barrett entered the game with 7:15 left to play in the third quarter. Barrett completed three-of-six passes for 18 yards and one interception.
  • RB Jonathan Williams rushed for 64 yards on 16 carries and recorded a fourth quarter threeyard touchdown run.
  • RB Boston Scott finished the game with 12 rushes for 68 yards and one touchdown.
  • Rookie WR Tre'Quan Smith hauled in four catches for 42 yards.
  • WR Cameron Meredith caught two passes for 72 yards, and a 16-yard touchdown catch in his most extensive preseason action. He also recorded the Saints longest reception of the preseason, hauling in a 56-yard catch from QB Taysom Hill.
  • TE Dan Arnold recorded two catches for 36 yards with a long reception of 29 yards.
  • LB Craig Robertson finished the game with three tackles and a sack for a one-yard loss.
  • LB Alex Anzalone had an interception in the red zone, halting the Rams opening drive. 
  • LB Nate Stupar posted three sacks on Rams QB Brandon Allen creating a 12-yard, three-yard, and nine-yard losses and a fumble recovery after CB Kamrin Moore stripped Rams WR Fred Brown. He also recorded an interception. He finished the game with seven total tackles (five solo).
  • LB Colton Jumper blocked Rams P Sam Ficken's punt, which was recovered and returned for a two-yard touchdown by LB Jayrone Elliot. 
  • CB Arthur Maulet recorded two total tackles and two passes defensed.
  • DE Alex Jenkins recovered a fumble with 6:36 left to play in the game.
  • K Wil Lutz completed a 34-yard field goal with :12 seconds left remaining in the first half and made his lone extra point with 11:29 remaining in the third quarter.
  • P Thomas Morstead punted three times for 141 total yards (47.0 avg.) with a long of 52 yards.
