Five takeaways from Mickey Loomis' pre-draft press conference

Mickey Loomis discussed a variety of topics in his pre-draft press conference at the New Orleans Saints facility Wednesday

On trade discussions around the league leading up to the Draft: Loomis said he doesn't believe there has been more trade chatter with the Saints this year. He added specific trade talks typically wouldn't happen until the opening night of the Draft.

On Jimmy Graham: Loomis said there is no update on Jimmy Graham's contract situation. The Saints placed their franchise tag on Graham in February.

On declining to issue a team-option fifth year to RB Mark Ingram's contract: Loomis called it a "financial decision" and not a reflection of what they think of him as a player. He said they spoke with Ingram about the decision before they made the move.

On Darren Sproles' departure: Loomis said they have candidates on the roster for the return game but would also "love to add someone" in the Draft.

On the large number of veteran players on the offense: Loomis said he is not concerned with the age of the offense, just the performance, adding "the performance has been pretty darn good."
