Drew Brees tells NFL Network he's "chomping at the bit" to get back to practice

Drew Brees has missed the two previous practices with a strained oblique

Drew Brees spoke with NFL Network's Marshall Faulk Monday afternoon about his strained oblique, the young New Orleans Saints wide receivers and his goals for the season. Watch the full interview here.

Here is what Brees said about his status:

"I just tweaked my oblique a little bit. I'm kind of day-to-day. It's certainly not something I want to rush back too quickly from because it could be problematic. I want to make sure I am good to go and we're still in early August here. I am chomping at the bit. I don't like sitting out. I don't like watching. I don't like not playing in the scrimmage or potentially not playing in a preseason game. (Being cautious) is what I have to do."
