- QB Drew Brees and Giants QB Eli Manning combined for 13 touchdown passes, the most in NFL history for a single game. The previous record of 12 was also set in a Saints game, on Nov. 2, 1969 at the St. Louis Cardinals, when Billy Kilmer and Charley Johnson each threw six TD passes.
- Brees' franchise-record seven touchdown passes tied the NFL single-game record, done seven times previously. The most recent seven-TD performance was by Nick Foles (then of Philadelphia) against Oakland on Nov. 3, 2013.
- Brees started his 150th career game as a Saint on Sunday, surpassing defensive back Dave Waymer (1980-89) and moving into sole possession of 10th place on the club's all-time games played list. Overall, it was his 209th career appearance, putting him in sole possession of 14th place among NFL quarterbacks all-time, surpassing Warren Moon.
- Brees, who was 40-of-50 for 511 yards with a 140.5 passer rating, also set Saints single-game records for completions and passing yards.
- Of the 18 performances of 40 or more completions in NFL history, only once has a quarterback done so on 50 or fewer attempts. Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger went 40-for-49 last season against Indianapolis.
- With his touchdown pass to WR Willie Snead in the first quarter, Brees extended his streak with at least one touchdown pass at home to 50, extending his NFL record. The touchdown throw was also his 325th as Saint.
- Breeshas now thrown at least five touchdowns in 10 games, breaking a tie with Peyton Manning for the most career games with at least five touchdown passes.
- It was the third time in Saints franchise history that a quarterback has thrown for at least six touchdowns. Brees also did so on Sept. 13, 2009 vs. Detroit, while Kilmer accomplished the feat on Nov. 2, 1969 at St. Louis.
- Brees' 500-yard game was the second of his career - he threw for 510 yards on Nov. 19, 2006 against Cincinnati. He joins Roethlisberger as the only quarterbacks with multiple games of 500 yards or more.
- With the touchdown score to Snead, Brees extended his streak of at least one touchdown pass to 43 games, good for fifth-best in league history.
- Breesthrew for a career-high 162 yards in the first quarter, besting a previous career-best of 158 yards set on Nov. 4, 2007 against Jacksonville.
- With two touchdowns in the first quarter, Breesrecorded the seventh multi-touchdown first quarter of his career.* *
- In the first half,* Brees went 19-of-21 for 300 yards and four touchdowns. *It was the fifth time in his career that he has thrown four touchdowns in the first half and first since Dec. 29, 2013 against Tampa Bay. He threw for at least 300 yards for the fourth time in his career and first since Dec. 29, 2013.
- Brees *joined New England Patriots QBTom Brady* as the only quarterbacks to throw four touchdown passes in the first half in five games over last 15 seasons.
