Brandin Cooks, Mercedes-Benz honor local heroes with brand new vehicles

Cooks and Mercedes-Benz rewarded local heroes as part of the #10YearsStronger campaign

Brandin Cooks and Mercedes-Benz helped three local families start their Thanksgiving week in a special way by delivering each of them a brand new Mercedes-Benz vehicle on Monday.

Cooks teamed up with Mercedes-Benz as part of their 10 Years Stronger initiative, which celebrates the top plays that have occurred in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome over the past decade and local heroes who have helped make New Orleans 10 years stronger.

"This was a very cool experience to team up with Mercedes-Benz and show these local heroes how much we appreciate what they have done for our city," said Cooks. "It makes it extra special to do this during the holiday season. I am honored to help with the 10 Years Stronger campaign."

The three local heroes that received cars on Monday helped contribute to the rebirth of New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina.

At the Saints home opener earlier this season, a halftime ceremony honored Steve Gleason, whose iconic blocked punt was voted a top play by fans.

The Local heroes that were honored, including Vickie Leleu, William Stoudt and Pastor Fred Luter Jr., joined Gleason at the 50-yard line and received the surprise of a lifetime when their very own Mercedes-Benz vehicles were driven onto the field. They now get to take these vehicles home.
