Winn-Dixie and New Orleans Saints' Receiver Joe Morgan Invite Fans to a Night of Strikes for Charity

NEW ORLEANS (September 2, 2014) – New Orleans Saints' Receiver, Joe Morgan, is teaming up with Winn-Dixie to host the inaugural GridIron Bowl, a celebrity bowling competition, on Tuesday, Sept. 16. All proceeds will benefit local non-profit, ELEVATE New Orleans, Inc. to help fund developmental progams for underprivileged youth.

The charity celebrity bowling event will feature live performances by singer, Kevin Stylez, and other local talent, appearances by Joe Morgan, Terron Armstead, Keenan Lewis, and teammates along with Saints Game Day announcer, Mark Romig, American Idol Finalist, Burnell Taylor, Recording artists, Dee-1, Big Freedia, Councilman at Large, Jason Williams, Attorney Chip Forstall and more.

"We strive to be just as proactive in the community as we are on the field," said New Orleans Saints' Wide Receiver, Joe Morgan. "GridIron is going to be a great time, but more importantly, it's going to positively impact community members in need."

"We are proud to support Joe Morgan in helping ELEVATE narrow the achievement gap for local youth," said Karena Niblett, regional vice president of Winn-Dixie in New Orleans. "This is a great opportunity to connect with the community and support our neighbors outside of our stores."

GridIron Bowl will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Rock N' Bowl on 3000 South Carrollton Avenue. Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased at team-ascension.com/event/the-gridiron-bowl/:

*General Admission ($66.85): all you can eat food and drink, access to live entertainment and celebrity bowling competition.

*VIP Bowler ($179.00): all you can eat food and drink, two hours of bowling with your favorite celebrity, autographed item and access to live entertainment.

"Fundraising allows us to enhance and extend our offerings to more kids throughout the city," said Sky Hyacinthe, executive director of Elevate USA. "With the support of additional community partners, we can flip the script in New Orleans and enhance the city by uplifting our children."
