New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough has been selected as the Pepsi Zero Sugar NFL Rookie of the Year, the league announced today.

This marks the fourth time that a Saint has won the award as Shough joins running backs George Rogers (1981), Rueben Mayes (1986) and Alvin Kamara (2017).

"I am truly humbled and honored to be chosen for this award," said Shough. "Coming in as a rookie, my goal was to do anything I could to contribute to our team's success. Whatever I was asked to do, I just wanted to help the team. This wouldn't be possible without all of my teammates and coaches giving everything they had each and every week to help us win. The award is truly a reflection of all of their hard work. I also want to say thank you to our amazing fans. Your unbelievable passion for the Saints and the city of New Orleans inspires all of us! I can't wait to see where we go from here!"

Shough, 6-5, 219, was the team's second round selection (40th overall) in the 2025 NFL Draft out of Louisville. In 11 games with nine starts, he completed 221-of-327 passes (67.6 pct.) for 2,384 yards with ten touchdowns, only six interceptions and a 91.3 passer rating, with his 103.3 third down passer rating leading the entire NFL. Shough set team rookie records in virtually every major passing category. Shough's 67.6 completion percentage was the third-highest among qualifying rookies all-time.

Shough was also named a PFWA All-Rookie selection and the December/January NFL Rookie of the Month. He is a finalist for the Associated Press NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, for which the winner will be announced this evening at the 15th annual NFL Honors awards show at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco.
