New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the club has signed safety Terrell Burgess to the active roster from the practice squad and placed defensive tackle Vernon Broughton on Injured Reserve. In addition, the club signed tackle Sataoa Laumea (pronounced Sah-TAU-uh LAU-may-ah) and guard Will Sherman to the practice squad and terminated the practice squad contract of quarterback Hunter Dekkers.

Burgess, 5-11, 202, was originally selected in the third round (104th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams out of Utah. Burgess joins the active roster after signing off the practice squad, where he spent the first two weeks of the 2025 season with the Black and Gold. Last week, Burgess was a standard elevation off the practice squad, rotating in at safety and on special teams in his Saints debut against the San Francisco 49ers. In five seasons with the Rams (2020-22), New York Giants (2022), Washington Commanders (2023), and Saints (2025), the San Marcos, Calif. native has played in 44 regular season games with four starts, posting career totals of 42 tackles (27 solo) with one pass breakup and 12 special teams stops.

Laumea, 6-4, 319, was originally drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the sixth round (179th overall) of the NFL Draft out of Utah. Laumea started all six games he appeared in for Seattle in 2024 at right guard and spent the 2025 offseason with Seattle and started the season on their practice squad. In five collegiate seasons with the Utes (2019-23), the Rialto, Calif. native played in 45 games with 44 consecutive starts (19 at right guard, 25 at right tackle). Laumea was named All-Pac-12 in four consecutive seasons, earning first team honors in 2022.

Sherman, 6-4, 300, was originally drafted by the New England Patriots in the sixth round (197th overall) of the NFL Draft out of Colorado. After appearing in one game with the Patriots in 2021, the Raleigh, N.C. native spent time on the practice squads with the Patriots (2021) and the Denver Broncos (2022-24). In three collegiate seasons with the Buffaloes, Sherman played in 24 games with 21 starts, starting all 12 games at right tackle in 2019 and was named All-Pac 12 honorable mention by the league's coaches in 2018 after playing in all 12 games with nine starts.
