COLLEGE CAREER – New Orleans' first third round pick this April, Broughton looks to make an immediate impact along the defensive line. At 6-4, 305, he possesses a blend of strength and athleticism that powered a strong Longhorns interior. The Houston, Texas native spent five seasons with the Longhorns, seeing action in 56 career games with 18 starts and was credited with 70 tackles (39 solo), 10.5 stops for loss, six sacks for loss of 40 yards, 15 quarterback hits, four fumble recoveries, three passes defensed and two forced fumbles. Reunited in New Orleans with his former college position coach, Bo Davis, and fellow Longhorn teammate Kelvin Banks Jr., Broughton will look to make an immediate impact on the Black and Gold defense.
