The NFL announced Wednesday that New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill has been named the Week 11 NFC Offensive Player of the Week. It is his third overall weekly conference honor, having been named the Week Five NFC Offensive Player of the Week in 2022 against Seattle and the Week 14 Special Teams Player of the Week in 2018 for blocking a punt at Tampa Bay.

Hill, 6 feet 2, 221 pounds, originally acquired by New Orleans at the end of the 2017 preseason after spending his initial training camp in Green Bay as an undrafted free agent, spearheaded a standout Saints offensive effort in a 35-14 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, where he carried seven times for career-high 138 yards (team record 19.7 avg.) with a career-high-tying three touchdowns, including a career-long 75-yard rush that ended in the end zone late in the fourth quarter. Hill also caught a career-high and club-best eight passes for 50 yards, completed a pass for a 18-yard gain and returned a kickoff 42 yards to finish with 188 total scrimmage yards and 230 all-purpose yards, both career-highs.

On Sunday, Hill became the first player with three rushing touchdowns, 50 receiving yards and one pass completion in a game since former Kansas City Chiefs running back Ed Podolak on Nov. 25, 1971 at Detroit. He also became the first non-running back with at least 125 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns in a game. Hill is the first non-running back ever with multiple games with at least 100 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns, previously doing so against Seattle in Week Five (112 yards rushing with three touchdowns) of the 2022 season, where he also earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

By the end of the afternoon, Hill helped lead New Orleans to a second consecutive victory and improve the Saints' record to 4-7, now standing only two games out of first place in a competitive NFC South race. In 2024, Hill has carried 34 times for 268 yards (7.9 avg.) with six touchdowns, caught 18 passes for 150 yards and completed two passes for 21 yards. On special teams, he has returned one kickoff for 42 yards and forced a safety on an aborted punt play.

In his career, Hill has played in 104 regular season games with 48 starts at tight end, quarterback, running back, fullback and wide receiver, carrying 432 times for 2,427 yards with 33 touchdowns, catching 94 passes for 906 yards with 12 touchdowns and completing 193-of-302 passes (63.9 pct.) for 2,369 yards with 11 touchdowns. On special teams, he has recorded 15 tackles, returned 20 kickoffs for 489 yards (24.5 avg.) and blocked a punt.
