Former New Orleans Saints safety Steve Gleason will live tweet (@TeamGleason) during an NFL Films documentary on his foundation, Team Gleason, Tuesday (9:30 pm CT on NFL Network).
The NFL Films feature will give an in-depth look of Gleason's battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and his efforts with the foundation.
NFL Films joined Team Gleason on a trip to Machu Picchu this past April and followed him during his Gleason Gras fundraiser at Champions Square on Sept. 6.
To live-tweet is to engage on Twitter for a continuous period of time with a sequence of focused Tweets.
Gleason tweets with his eyes using his wheelchair mounted computer. Along with tweeting, Gleason speaks through a synthetic voice, reads and responds to email, plays iTunes and surfs the Internet with just his eyes.
The special will re-air on ESPN2 on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 1 am CT and on NFL Network at 3 pm CT.
