Teams are playing for a spot in NFC championship game

First quarter update: The Seattle Seahawks took advantage of a short Thomas Morstead punt to score the first points in the game on a 38-yard Steven Hauschka field goal. Hauschka added a 49-yard field goal at the end of the period as the Seahawks took a 6-0 lead after one quarter.

The Saints mounted one solid scoring drive but Shayne Graham's 45-yard field-goal attempt missed left.

Key stats: Saints, Drew Brees, 3 of 4 for 19 yards; Mark Ingram, four carries for 34 yards. Seahawks, Russell Wilson, 4 of 5 for 21 yards; Marshawn Lynch, five carries for 14 yards.
