Saints Sign DB Justin Thomas

The New Orleans Saints announced today that they have signed defensive back Justin Thomas, it was announced by Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis.

Thomas, 5-11, 185, participated in the club's rookie minicamp on a tryout basis this past weekend after playing quarterback at Georgia Tech from 2012-16, where he was a three-year starter. He opened 38 of the Yellow Jackets' 39 games over the past three seasons and amassed 7,166 yards of total offense (4,754 passing, 2,412 rushing) and 62 total touchdowns (40 passing, 22 rushing) in his collegiate career. Thomas is the only player in Georgia Tech history with 4,000 passing yards and 2,000 rushing yards in a career and was the 39th player in NCAA Division I FBS history to accomplish the feat. As a senior in 2016, the Prattville, Ala. native accounted for 2,163 total yards of total offense (1,559 passing, 604 rushing).
