Saints quarterback Drew Brees named FedEx Air Player of the Week

Brees threw for 465 yards and four TDs in win over Panthers

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees on Thursday was named the NFL's FedEx Air Player of the Week following his 465-yard, four-touchdown performance vs. the Carolina Panthers last Sunday.

Brees beat out Tom Brady of the New England Patriots and Eli Manning of the New York Giants in the online voting. Brees was 34 of 49 with a 118.2 rating in the 41-38 victory over Carolina that improved the Saints to 2-3 going into Sunday's game at Kansas City.

For the season Brees is 150 of 225 (66.7 percent) for 1,734 yards with 14 touchdowns, four interceptions and a 103.1 rating.
