The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation has joined forces with the Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club to create the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation Quarterback Club.

Entering its 77th year, the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation Quarterback Club promotes amateur and professional sports in the Greater New Orleans area on a weekly basis.

For the first time in the history of the organization, the Quarterback Club will meet weekly on Tuesday for 16 consecutive weeks, beginning with the first meeting of the season on Sept. 1 at 12:15 p.m.

Speakers on Sept. 1 include New Orleans Saints President Dennis Lauscha, LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva, Tulane Executive Associate Athletic Director/External Affairs Brandon Macneill, John Curtis Christian Head Coach J.T. Curtis and Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation President/CEO Jay Cicero.

The Quarterback Club is pleased to return to The Cannery at 3803 Toulouse Street for a third year. The Cannery, one of the premier multi-purpose event venues in the entire region, is owned by the Pel Hughes family.

"The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation is proud to partner with a 77-year-old organization that has done well for our community," Cicero said. "We hope to help the Quarterback Club to grow in attendance, programming and awareness. We believe it is a great partnership that can last a long time and deliver valuable, additional benefits to Sports Foundation members."

Speakers from the New Orleans Saints, LSU, Tulane and prep football will address the audience weekly, along with special guest speakers from the sports world in metropolitan New Orleans. A local high school player of the week is chosen throughout the season with a metro prep player of the year announced at the end of the season. Lunch is served weekly.

Annual standard membership is $50 per person with premier annual membership at $80, which includes a Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club golf shirt and lapel pin, along with reserved seating. Luncheons are $20 per person for members and $25 per person for non-members. Purchase tickets in advance and season memberships here.

SportsNOLA.com will serve as the official web site of the Quarterback Club while Compliance Technology, Strength Shoe, WGSO 990am and WHNO-TV 20 remain sponsors as well.
