Saints kicker Wil Lutz named NFC's Special Teams Player of the Week

He made 58-yard game-winner in season opener vs. Texans

New Orleans Saints kicker Wil Lutz was named the NFC's Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced Wednesday morning.

Lutz, in his fourth season with the Saints out of Georgia State, made a 58-yard game-winning field goal as time expired to give the Saints a 30-28 season-opening victory on Monday night against the Houston Texans at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Earlier in the game Lutz made 32- and 47-ysrd field goals. He also successfully converted all three extra-point attempts. The game-winning kick was the longest of Lutz's career.
