Payton, Saints players, former Saints to play in Saints Hall of Fame Golf Classic Monday

The Saints Hall of Fame Celebrity Golf Classic begins at 9 a.m. Monday

A total of 16 current New Orleans Saints players will join head coach Sean Payton and Executive Vice President and General Manager Mickey Loomis, along with 14 other former New Orleans Saints players for the 25th annual WGNO Saints Hall of Fame Celebrity Golf Classic Monday at 9 a.m. at Chateau Golf and Country Club at 3600 Chateau Blvd. in Kenner.

Among the current players participating are Delvin Breaux, Tony Carter, Justin Drescher, Coby Fleener, Kai Forbath, Chris Highland, Josh Hill, Michael Hoomanawanui, Mark Ingram, Austin Johnson, Michael Mauti, Thomas Morstead, Craig Robertson, Zach Strief, Nathan Stupar and Max Unger

Among the Saints alumni participating are Saints Hall of Fame inductees Deuce McAllister, Tyrone Hughes, Rickey Jackson, Joe Johnson, Michael Lewis, along with former Saints Jackie Burkett, Chuck Commiskey, Jack Holmes, Tyrone Legette, Fred McAfee, Mel Mitchell, Maurice Spencer, Mike Strachan and Emmanuel Zanders.

The event is a taste of New Orleans, with 21 restaurants catering on-course, including a restaurant on every hole. An awards luncheon follows in the clubhouse.

There is still room for up to two foursomes to participate. The cost is $1,200 per foursome, $1,500 for a group of five which includes a Saints celebrity and $300 per person.

All proceeds benefit the non-profit Saints Hall of Fame Museum, under renovation for the 50th anniversary of the New Orleans Saints at Gate B on the Plaza level of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
