"I was deeply saddened today to learn of Paul Tagliabue's passing. Paul had an unprecedented vision and tireless spirit as NFL Commissioner from 1989-2006, which spurred an enormous growth period for the National Football League. His efforts played a key role in the growth of our game today as a worldwide entity. Paul was a great friend, not only to me and my husband, Tom, but also to the City of New Orleans, hosting three Super Bowls during his tenure. We extend our deepest condolences to Paul's wife, Chan, and the Tagliabue family during this difficult time."
