New Orleans Saints rookie report: Kevin Reddick

Kevin Reddick met with NewOrleansSaint.com after Thursday afternoon's practice.

Kevin Reddick agreed to terms with the New Orleans Saints during this offseason as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina.

The middle linebacker appeared in 50 games with 43 starts during his four year tenure with the Tar Heels. The two-time team captain registered 275 tackles, 8.5 sacks, 36 stops for a loss, two interceptions with one returned for a touchdown, 16 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

How does it feel going into your NFL debut tomorrow?

"It feels great actually. I'm just excited to be able to go out there and help the team win. This is a preseason game but it's also a game. It's the first game for me. I'm willing to go out there and do whatever I can do to help us get the win and show the coach what I can do."

What's been your biggest transition from college to NFL?

"I would just say learning the stuff faster. They throw a lot of stuff at you. It's more learning it quick. You've got like 15 installs in a day, where in college it was like two or three installs. Just being on an advanced learning curve."

Can you walk me through your routine tomorrow?

"Before the game I call my daughter and probably listen to some gospel music, thank the lord and just sit there and think about what I got to do. I'll probably go over my plays one more time and from there one it's just time to play. I don't do anything too crazy. Just keep it basic and just go out there and play ball."

What have you liked most about the city so far?

"I definetly love the fans. Everywhere you go, it's Who Dat. It's different seeing that everywhere you go. Fans knowing you and you really haven't done nothing yet. Everybody in the city loves the Saints."

Have you had any special rookie duties beside carrying pads?

"No, not yet. I'm sure it's coming though."
