New Orleans Saints announce formation of Ring of Honor

First three chosen will be honored at halftime of Dallas Cowboys game Nov. 10

!The New Orleans Saints announced Wednesday the formation of a Ring of Honor that will recognize former players, administrators and individuals who have played a significant role both on the field and off the field in the franchise's history. The Ring of Honor will be displayed prominently along the Mercedes-Benz Superdome's Terrace Level fascia.

The Saints will unveil their introductory class Sunday, Nov. 10 when the team hosts the Dallas Cowboys before a nationally televised audience.

"We, as an organization, have given thoughtful consideration in an effort to properly honor the contributions of the many great people that have proudly represented the New Orleans Saints," said Saints Owner/Chairman of the Board Tom Benson. "We are excited to induct the deserving members of the Class of 2013 and allow our fans an opportunity to honor the efforts and contributions that these people have made to our franchise."

"The history of any organization is something that should be treasured and remembered," said Owner/Vice Chairman of the Board Rita Benson LeBlanc. "Ours is rich in tradition as it pertains to our city, our region and our fans. The legacy of those who have contributed positively to our organization and football will be reflected in this Ring of Honor."

The New Orleans Saints Ring of Honor selection committee is comprised of team ownership, front office administrators, team historian, former Saints players and selected members of the media.  A special ceremony is planned for halftime of the game on Nov. 10. More details will be provided at a later date.
