New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week following his dominating performance in his team's 45-35 victory over the previously undefeated Los Angeles Rams. The NFL announced the award Wednesday morning.
Thomas, a third-year receiver out of Ohio State, had 12 receptions for 211 yards with a 72-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter. The yardage was a single-game franchise record for the Saints. The 6-foot-3, 212-pounder has 70 receptions for 880 yards and five touchdowns putting him on pace shatter just about every Saints receiving record. Sunday's game was his fourth with 10 or more catches and third with 100 or more yards.
