New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees looked good in his brief first-half appearance vs. the Houston Texans on Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Brees was 4 of 6 for 40 yards and led the Saints to a Zach Hocker 28-yard field goal in his only drive. Hocker added a 53-yard field goal at the end of the half.

The Texans took a 13-6 lead at halftime thanks to a 1-yard Alfred Blue touchdown run, two Randy Bullock field goals, one from 49 yards and the other a 29-yarder.

Most of the offensive starters left when Brees did and Luke McCown played quarterback for the rest of the half.

Willie Snead had four receptions for 56 yards while Brandon Coleman made his first catch of the preseason, a 27-yarder.

Tim Hightower led the Saints in rushing with six carries for 24 yards.

McCown lost a fumble when he was sacked by Tony Washington with two minutes to play in the half.

Brian Hoyer started at quarterback for the Texans and was 7 of 11 for 82 yards.
