The Morton's the Steakhouse Community Player of the Week was announced at the Saints' match-up with the San Francisco 49ers. This week's honoree was fullback Jed Collins.
Since joining the team in 2010, Jed has been active in the New Orleans community, including serving as an ambassador for Special Olympics Louisiana.
At last summer's Special Olympics Louisiana competition hosted in Hammond, Collins served as an honorary coach. Many of the athletes were touched by his presence and participation in their exciting event. Collins also supports his teammates in their community efforts, as well.
