Former Saints equipment manager Steve Landry dies after battle with ALS

Landry worked for the Saints for nearly 20 years

The New Orleans Saints mourn the loss of Steve Landry, a longtime member of their equipment department who passed away on Sunday after fighting a long, valiant battle with ALS.

Landry, a New Orleans native, in addition to working as a full-time employee of Southwest Airlines for 30 years, also worked in the Saints equipment room for nearly 20 years. On days when the Saints players would be at the facility for practice, offseason workouts and training camp as well as on gamedays, Landry would assist longtime equipment manager Dan Simmons, assistant equipment manager Silky Powell and the rest of the equipment staff in assisting with needs of the coaching staff and the players.

Landry is survived by his wife Rita and daughter Katie Landry-Guyton and stepdaughters Ashly Patterson and Katie Bourgeois–Lacoste
